Suzanne Wetanson

Suzanne was born in Washington D.C.. She studied art at The Art Students League of NY, The East Side Sculpture Center and Credal Foundry in Marbella, Spain. She moved to Long Island, NY, where she married and raised three children. Suzanne has always been a passionate artist; drawing, painting in all mediums, writing, carving stone and sculpting.

She now lives and creates sculpture between New York City, Watermill Long Island and Forte dei Marmi, Italy; where she is proudly affiliated with the exclusive Marianna Foundry in Pietra Santa.

Suzanne has won illustrious awards and accolades for her varied works. She won the Elliot Liskin Sculpture Award at The Salamagundi Club and the First Sculpture Medal of Honor at the Audubon Artists, National Arts Club in NYC.

She has shown at Guild Hall East Hampton, Crysallis Gallery Southampton, NY Sculpture Center Gallery, The York Gallery, The Sculpture Society, Avanti Gallery in NYC, Easton Fine Arts Gallery in NYC, Ann Harper Gallery of Amagansett, Sundance Gallery in Bridgehampton, Oscar Molina Gallery in Southampton, and Monteforte Gallery in Forte Di Marmi, Italy… to name a few.

Now, having carved marble, alabaster and limestone and cast bronze and resin, she has a vast body of work - contemporary, with an emphasis on motion, still with a point of departure from the classics.

Her work is held in private collections of admirers who appreciate fine and original work, displaying power and fluidity. Please call us for the available sculptures and details on commission works.

This year Suzannes’ sculpture “PEARS” was chosen to be in the permanent exhibit at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC.

It is a graceful representation of symbiotic relationships.
