Fat Rooster

26 x 15 x 10 inches, alabaster

It was early Spring. Liza was buying vegetables for her new garden. (By early Fall there would be enough produce to sustain two households for the seasons.) Peeking around the pots of baby lettuce was a colorful Bantum Rooster. Liza bent down to offer him some of the popcorn she had been snacking on. Not many people take to roosters so warmly, but Liza always thought a garden was not complete without a rooster. They are truly pretty.

Well, "That Rooster" bit at her fingers, then attacked her feet, which were bare in flip-flop sandals. She ran into the shop with "That Rooster" at her toes, leaving a trail of blood behind her. So much for a rooster in the garden.
